Florida Marlins Rookie of the Year Award

Members of the Miami chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America vote annually for the Florida Marlins Rookie of the Year Award receipient. Similar in nature to a Rookie of the Year Award, but simply team specific, the Marlins Rookie of the Year Award has been given since 1995 to the Florida Marlins player who consistently performed at the top of their game during their rookie season.

"But, as an individual season, it was probably the best season I've had so far. So when you look at it from that standpoint, it's kind of a cool season." - Dan Uggla in The Miami Herald (Clark Spencer, 'Fish Bytes', 09/30/2010)

Florida Marlins Rookie of the Year Award

Florida Marlins who have won the Florida Marlins Rookie of the Year Award and the "regular" BBWAA Rookie of the Year Award are: Dontrelle Willis, Hanley Ramirez & Chris Coghlan.

In 1993 the Miami area writers created the Florida Marlins Most Valuable Player of the Year Award, in 1995 the Charlie Hough Good Guy Award and in 2008 they started the Jeff Conine Award.
