Imagine pitching in four Major League ball games and on your second start you throw a perfect game against a team that included players like Harry Heilmann and Ty Cobb. Charlie Robertson achieved instant fame when he did exactly it against the Detroit Tigers who complained that he was doctoring the ball throughout the entire game.

"Because of the crowd on the field ground rules were necessary. (Earl) Sheely hit one into the overflow patrons in the fourth and (Joe) Mulligan did the same thing in the seventh.
