The University of California baseball program started in 1892 and Orval Overall was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the University of California Hall of Fame.

Golden Bear pitchers have tossed more than five no-hitters during their team's history, but Andy Messersmith (combined no-hitter with Bill Frost on March 10, 1965) is the only alumnus to make it into the major leagues.
