The University of Michigan baseball program started in 1866 and Frank Bliss was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the University of Michigan Hall of Fame.

Scott Kamieniecki (1983-1986) and Gary Wayne (1983-1984), who were the first two Alumni pitchers in a Varsity versus Alumni game played on September 21, 2003, were also the starting pitchers for the Michigan Wolverines during the 1984 College World Series, the last time a Michigan or Big Ten team reached Omaha.
