University of Tampa M.L.B. Player Alumnus

The University of Tampa baseball program started in 1961 and Lou Piniella was their first player to make it to the Major League level.

Did you know that there are seven former Spartans who made it to the show? Send corrections to Baseball Almanac.

The University of Tampa has students from all fifty states taking classes and players from around the world on their baseball team, but oddly enough, all five Spartans players who have made it to the major leagues were born in Tampa, Florida.
