Did you know that Hughie Jennings and was the only player in Major League history to be hit by a pitch three times during one game three different times during his career until 2006? Reed Johnson tied this unusual record on April 29, 2006 after being plunked for the third time in a game, the third time in his career (April 7, 2006 and April 16, 2005 were the other two instances).

Frank Chance played in a double header on May 30, 1904, and became the only player to ever get hit by a pitch five times during a double header.

The last player from each league to tie the record for being hit by a pitch in a nine-inning game: Corey Koskie on July 27, 2004, with the Minnesota Twins and Chase Utley on April 8, 2008, with the Philadelphia Phillies.
