The All-Star Game competition / experience has been written about in several books, talked about by millions of people in millions of instances, and summed up nicely by Brett Butler, "The idea is to have fun. I want to win, but first I want to have a good time. When I got here, I said to Tony Gwynn, 'Can I carry your bags for you?' And I would have done it because I'm so thrilled just to be here."

Most fans know that President George Bush attended this game with Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, but did you know this was his third All-Star "experience" due to two previous visits (1981 All-Star Game & 1988 All-Star Game) while he was the Vice President of the United States?

The Skydome opened its doors to our national pastime in 1989, but this was the largest number of fans to view a baseball game in its history (to date).
