Sandy Alomar (Senior) was the batting practice pitcher for the National League and he personally observered - for the first time - his two sons play during the same Midsummer Classic making him the first former All-Star father with two All-Star sons.

Trivia Alert: There were two rain delays during the 1990 All-Star Game. The first delayed the first pitch of the contest seventeen minutes. The second delay came during the seventh inning and lasted sixty-three minutes.

Do you know who the first pitcher to start an All-Star Game from the Kansas City Royals was? It happened during the 1987 All-Star Game and it was his first time playing in the event. Why mentioned this here? Because he also pitched in this Midsummer classic which doubled as his last appearance in an All-Star Game.
