Did you know that since the first ever Midsummer Classic there had been nine extra-inning games through 1994 and the National League had won all nine?

There were three All-Star sons of former All-Star fathers playing during the 1994 All-Star Game. They were Moises Alou whose dad was Felipe Alou (1962 All-Star Game & 1968 All-Star Game), Barry Bonds whose dad was Bobby Bonds (1971 All-Star Game, 1973 All-Star Game & 1975 All-Star Game) and Ken Griffey, Jr. whose dad was Ken Griffey (1976 All-Star Game & 1980 All-Star Game).

Lee Smith described the home run pitch to Fred McGriff with, "I put that pitch where I wanted to put it, but he went down and got it. If I'd thrown that same pitch and Fred (McGriff) had hit into a double play he'd have said, 'Smitty got me with a good pitch.' It wasn't in his wheelhouse, but I guess his wheelhouse is all over."
