Autograph Of The Week: Joel Horlen

On September 10, 1967, Joel Horlen of the Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers with a 6-0 no-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader. He would finish the season as American League leader in winning percentage, shutouts, and earned run average.

"For each guy you strike out, you pay me five bucks." - Joel Horlen as a pitching coach to minor leaguer to Jason Grilli before taking the mound. The advice is meant to stress longevity versus glamor.
