Curveballs and Screwballs

The introduction inside the unbelievably fascinating Curveballs and Screwballs book is — believe it or not — written by Robert Redford himself, "It's odd, really, that facts can engage us so. Even if baseball is a universal language, why do we take interest in Moe Berg's dying words, or for whom Perryton, Ohio names its high-school field? Some of these facts are fun, even hilarious. Some are more mundane, but none are meaningless—they tell us about a time and a place and a sport. They tell us the story of baseball."

Jeffery Lyons and Doug Lyons "tell us the story of baseball" in Curveball and Screwballs through the use of questions and answers, though these types of questions have probably not been asked before this book was written! If you are a fan of baseball trivia, anecdotes, or just plain baseball itself, then Curveballs and Screwballs belongs on your baseball book shelf.
