Box Score of No Hitter by Joel Horlen

Joel Horlen started the season on fire, going 10-1 in his first fourteen starts. When it appeared as if it could not get better, he pitched the following no hitter. The White Sox gave Horlen an early lead and he never really neede much assistance from that point forward. Nearly every play was routine as his fastball and sinker kept the hitters, who managed nothing more than weak shots to White Sox fielders, off balance throughout the game.

"For each guy you strike out, you pay me five bucks." - Joel Horlen as a pitching coach to minor leaguer to Jason Grilli before taking the mound. The advice is meant to stress longevity versus glamor.
