Georgia Southern University's baseball program started in 1933 and Ken Szotkiewicz was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the Georgia Southern University Hall of Fame.

Ken Szotkiewicz was first drafted in 1965 by the Phillies, but did not sign. He was drafted again in 1967 by the Twins, but did not sign. In 1968 he finally signed with the Detroit Tigers and became the second major league ballplayer whose last name starts with Sz (the first was Joe Szekely).
