Long Island University C.W. Post Baseball Players Who Made it to the Major Leagues

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every Long Island University C.W. Post alumnus who played baseball at Long Island University C.W. Post AND made it to the Major League level.

"It was unbelievable. It's very rare to see that happen (a 6-for-6 game), and it couldn't happen to a better guy. It's not something you see too often, and no matter what the situation was in the game, I think everybody would've been cheering him (Frank Catalonotto) on." - Toronto Center Fielder Vernon Wells

Long Island University M.L.B. Player Alumnus

The Long Island University baseball program started in 1954 and Richie Scheinblum was their first player to make it to the Major League level.

Did you know that there are two (2) former Long Island University players who made it to "the show"? Send corrections or updates to Baseball Almanac.

On May 1, 2004, Frank Catalanotto went six-for-six at the plate in an American League game tieing the junior circuit record for hits in a game. Why mention this here AND include a quote about him at the top of the page? Because "Cat" attended C.W. Post during his offseasons.
