University of Georgia Baseball Players Who Made it to the Major Leagues

Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every University of Georgia alumnus who played baseball at the University of Georgia AND made it to the Major League level.

"Selected as an All-Star four times, and a one-time winner of the American League Most Valuable Player over an 11-year career with the New York Yankees, Spud Chandler was frequently overshadowed by such legendary teammates as Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey and Lou Gehrig, but he was beloved by Georgians who remembered his years playing both baseball and football at the University of Georgia (1929-1932)." - Our Georgia History

University of Georgia M.L.B. Player Alumnus

The University of Georgia baseball program started in 1886 and Claud Derrick was their first player to make it to the Major League level.

There have been quite a few additional University of Georgia students who did not play baseball for the Bulldogs, but went on to become major league ballplayers: Bill Calhoun, Hal Epps, Jack Fisher, Ralph Head, Tully Sparks & Jon Warden.

Did you know that there are thirty-two former Georgia players who made it to the show? Send corrections or updates to Baseball Almanac.
