University of North Carolina at Charlotte

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte baseball program started in 1979 and Mark Davidson was their first player to make it to the Major League level.

Bryan Harvey's daughter, Whitney Harvey, was diagnosed in 1990 with Angeman Syndrome — a rare neurological disorder. When he won the Rolaids Relief Man Award (1991) he donated the $20,000 prize month to help find a cure and commented in Baseball Weekly, "Just seeing her every day makes my job easy. Whitney lives with her problems every day. That's why I don't get really, really down after a bad game or something."
