The West Virginia University baseball program started in 1892 and Scoops Carey was their first player to make it to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the West Virginia University Hall of Fame.

The last American League President was Gene A. Budig. From 1994 through 1999 he served as head of the junior circuit, but before that he was actually the eighteenth president of West Virginia University serving there from 1977 through 1981.
