Baseball Stepfathers and Stepsons

Over one hundred father-and-son combinations have made it to the big leagues, but there have also been a couple stepfather and stepson sets to make it to the show as well. Here is the list of stepfathers and stepsons who have made it to the Major Leagues.

"We feel Jayson has the abilities -- offensive and defensively. He will fill any hole that was left by Adam Dunn or anybody else in the middle of the lineup. I think our evaluators have seen him improve the last three years to a point where we still think that his best days are still ahead of him. He drives in runs, he scores runs, he prevents runs. We feel that he is an elite player and an elite pickup for us." - Washington Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo on MLB.com (Bill Ladson, 12/05/2010, 'Nationals lure Werth with seven-year deal', Source)

"I'll always remember that." Source.

Did you know that Dennis Werth, the stepfather of outfielder Jayson Werth, is also the husband of former U.S. Olympic athlete Kim Schofield Werth?

Jayson Werth is the grandson of Dick "Ducky" Schofield and nephew of Dick Schofield - the fifth three-generation baseball family in Major League history.
