Expansion Era Famous Firsts

A single player will refuse to report to his camp setting off a trial that will make it all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States and eventually change every professional team sport.

The Major League owners are left with a bad taste and players begin to get control of their own destiny. Toss in a few new franchises and baseball begins a semi-modern rebirth during the Expansion Era.

The Sislers became the first father-son managerial two-some. George Sisler managed the St. Louis Browns in 1924-25-26 and Dick Sisler managed the Reds in 1964-65.
