	On August 25, 1936, Boston played St. Louis in the first game of a double header. In the first inning, seven doubles were hit by the two clubs setting an all time Major League record for doubles hit during an inning by both teams combined. Johnny Frederick, who led the National League with fifty-two doubles in 1929, was a rookie that season and also set the Major League record for doubles hit by a rookie. On August 27, 1948, Hank Majeski played in double header with Philadelphia and became the only player in Major League history to hit six doubles during a double header.
