The Pittsburgh Pirates drew their largest home attendance during the 2001 season, when 2,435,867 fans attended home games at the newly opened PNC Park (which averaged 30,834 fans per game during the season).

On April 8, 1991, the Pittsburgh Pirates played the Montreal Expos and set team records for largest Opening Day attendance (54,274 were present) and most fans during a night game.
