1,000 Wins Club

The following managers have each achieved a true pinnacle in their managerial career: 1,000 plus Major League victories. No physical award is given for this honorary mark, but many of the managers in this "club" have been enshrined into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and maybe someday Major League Baseball will recognize this elite group of victorious skippers.

Notes: A bold faced entry denotes that the manager was active during the previous Major League season, an italic entry denotes a Hall of Fame manager/player, and a grayed-out entry denotes a manager with no Major League experience as a player.

"You realize the great managers that are on that list (our 1,000 Wins Club list), and to be among them is a unique honor. It says a lot about the players you’ve had play for you over the years. I think it’s about the fact that I've done this a long time." - Mike Hargrove on MSNBC News (AP Wire, 04/13/2005)

1,000 Wins Club | Current Thru 2012 Opening Day

Did you know that John McGraw and Casey Stengel lead in Major League pennants won with ten each? Did you know they are also tied for World Series victories with seven each?

Managers in the 1,000 Wins Club whose name appear in the chart without a link are managers who never played in a single Major League game!

Hall of Fame Manager Joe McCarthy is ranked eighth on the 1,000 Wins Club and first overall on the all-time winning percentage (.615) chart. Manager Art Howe, on April 20, 2003, did enjoy the honor of making the club and said briefly to the media, "It's a nice milestone, and I'm proud of that."
