Jeremy Bonderman Stats by Baseball Almanac |
Jeremy Allen Bonderman was a Major League Baseball player who pitched for the Detroit Tigers (2003-2010), Seattle Mariners (2013), and Detroit Tigers (2013). On June 5, 2001, Bondo, his nickname, became the first high school junior ever drafted in the first round (the twenty-sixth pick overall)!
Bonderman, who had to petition Major League Baseball to be eligible for the draft when he was only a junior, said, "Taking the GED and moving on to my dream of playing baseball was what I wanted to do, and my mom and dad supported me. I thought I was going to go high in the first round, but I went twenty-sixth overall.
