Barry Bonds was born on Friday, July 24, 1964, in Riverside, California. Bonds was 21 years old when he broke into the big leagues on May 30, 1986, with the Pittsburgh Pirates. His biographical data, year-by-year hitting stats, fielding stats, pitching stats (where applicable), career totals, uniform numbers, salary data and miscellaneous items-of-interest are presented by Baseball Almanac on this comprehensive Barry Bonds baseball stats page.

"I like to be against the odds. I'm not afraid to be lonely at the top. With me, it's just the satisfaction of the game. Just performance." - Barry Bonds

"Barry Bonds was a god among men. He holds the record for the most home runs hit in a single season and the most home runs hit by a single player. He holds the record for the most walks in a season and the most walks in a career. He is the the lone member of the 400HR/400SB Club, and the lone member of the 500SB/500HR Club. He set the single season intentional walks record, previously held by himself, in July. Giants fans love him. Dodgers fans suck. Long live Barry Bonds!" - Devon Luongo

Did you know that Jose Canseco (1988), Barry Bonds (1996), Alex Rodriguez (1998) and Alfonso Soriano (2006) are the only four major league ballplayers in the 40/40 Club — connect for at least forty home runs and steal at least forty bases during the same season? When Soriano joined the club his manager, hall of famer Frank Robinson, commented on MLB.com, "It's a very nice accomplishment. There's no doubt about it. The people that hit forty home runs or more don't steal that many bases, even today. It's quite an accomplishment." and his opponent's manager, Ned Yost of the Brewers, commented, "You don't see 40-40 every day, and that's a huge accomplishment."

You can follow the team links in the chart above to locate common statistics (singles), advanced statistics (WHIP Ratio & Isolated Power), and unique statistics (plate appearances & times on bases) not found on any other website.

The Sporting News, on September 24, 2009, announced their Team of the Decade which was composed of Joe Mauer (catcher), Albert Pujols (first base), Jeff Kent (second base), Derek Jeter (shortstop), Alex Rodriguez (third base), Barry Bonds (outfield), Ichiro Suzuki (outfield), Manny Ramirez (outfield), David Ortiz (designated hitter), Randy Johnson (starting pitcher), Mariano Rivera (closer) and Joe Torre (manager).
