What did Brown think of the Major Leagues after his career? In Baseball Digest, 'What Some Old-Timers Think of the Major Leagues Today' (November 1995, Rick Van Blair, Page 52) he said, "Back when I played there were only sixteen teams and a billion minor league teams to supply those sixteen teams. Now there are too many big league teams. I see where a lot of players are hitting .230 and they are making three million dollars a year. It makes me sick. The talent is just too spread out today."
