Will Brunson attended and played baseball at Eastfield College (Mesquite, TX) after high school, was drafted by the New York Mets in 1990 (29th Round), but did not sign. He then attended Texas State University (San Marcos, TX) where he was drafter by the Cincinnati Reds in 1992, signed and reported to rookie-league ball later that same year.

Did you know that Will Brunson died on November 23, 2019, after suffering a heart attack while hiking at Big Bend National Park (Texas / 300 miles southeast of El Paso)? He is the first known ballplayer to pass away inside of a National Park.
