"To be back in the organization that I came up in, that I was drafted by, to have gone through the rebuild that we did and to have left when I did and being able to come back and be in the World Series last year and hopefully repeating ... not only being there but winning a championship this year with this team, would be a pretty cool story. That’s the goal, that's the hope. I'm just grateful for the opportunity to be able to come back here and be on this team that has given me so much in my baseball career. I'm trying to do everything I can to be healthy and stay on the field as much as I can. Like I said, the goal is to win a championship. Whatever I need to do to help this team do that, that's what I’m looking to do." - Castro, Jason. Castro's goal for potential final season: World Series title. McTaggart, Brian. MLB Staff Writer. 25 March 2022.

The Houston Colt .45s entered the National League as an expansion team in 1962. In 1965, the franchise became known as the Houston Astros. Forty-eight year later, the franchise moved from the National League to the American League. Why did we share this here? Because Castro was selected as a reserve catcher in the 2013 All-Star Game, making Jason the first All-Star from the American League Astros! On December 2, 2022, Jason Castro officially retired from Major League Baseball:
Today, I officially announce my retirement from Major League Baseball. Over the last 15 years of pro ball, I have been blessed with many incredible opportunities and have met so many people along the way that helped me achieve more than I could have ever imagined.
