Did you know that Nomar Garciaparra is the only player in baseball history to hit three home runs in a regular season game (July 23, 2002) on his birthday? Too easy? Did you know Nomar is the only shortstop in Major League history to drive in ten-or-more runs during a game? [Box Score | RBI Records]

Nomar Garciaparra was a two-time American League batting champion, hitting .357 in 1999 (Top 25), and .372 in 2000 (Top 25). His back-to-back batting titles were the first by a junior circuit right-handed batter since Joe DiMaggio did it in 1939-1940!

On May 10, 1999, Nomar Garciaparra hit two grand slams in the same game. He was the tenth player in Major League history to join the "club" and the first shortstop in Major League history to ever hit two slams in the same game!
