Juan Gonzalez was one of the most respected (and feared) hitters during his career, finishing his career with one of the highest home run percentages (Top 1,000) in baseball history, and during the 1990s, only four sluggers hit more home runs than Juan Gone (339 HRs); Albert Belle (351 HRs), Barry Bonds (361 HRs), Ken Griffey, Jr. (382 HRs) and Mark McGwire (405 HRs).
Juan Gonzalez collected forty-or-more homers, in five different seasons (1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998), during the same decade (1990s)! Only three American League players, up to that point (1999) in baseball history have ever had more 40-homer seasons; Ken Griffey, Jr. (6x), Harmon Killebrew (8x), and a hall of famer who did it eleven times — do you know it was? [Answer]
Did you that Juan Gonzalez set the Texas Rangers single season record for most RBIs (157) in 1998, the first player in franchise history to eclipse the 150-RBI mark? Did you know that he had driven in 101 runs before the All-Star Game, only the second player in baseball history with 100 RBI before the Midsummer Classic, joining Hank Greenberg? In his native Puerto Rico, Juan Gonzalez is known as Igor. Why? Let's ask Juan Gonzalez, "I watched wrestling all the time and I still like it. One day when I was nine, I told another guy, 'I'm Igor.' And he said,'Okay, your name is Igor from now on.' And I've been Igor since then."
