"I hope I die on the field. I hope when I walk to change the pitcher, I drop dead and that's it. I know my family would be so happy that it happened on the field. They wouldn't feel bad because that's what I’ve always wanted to do." - Ozzie Guillen in the Chicago Tribune (Rick Morrissey, 'White Sox's Guillen: Let me die on the field', 02/26/2009, Source) [Ozzie Guillen Quotes]

Did you know that Ozzie Guillen was the first Latin manager in Major League history to win a World Series (2005)? As a player, the Venezuelan born shortstop was a fan favorite who was well regarded for his passion, speed, hustle, intensity and defensive abilities, not to mention his ebullient love for the game of baseball. The fifth Chicago White Sox player to win Rookie of the Year Award who also happened to be their fifth Chicago White Sox manager to win a Manager of the Year Award, but only the second in Major League history to have that unique pair of awards on his mantle (Lou Piniella was first).

Ozzie Guillen was the first manager in Major League history given a two-day suspension and fined $50,000 (later reduced to $20,000) for a violation of Major League Baseball's social media policy after making comments on Twitter following an ejection. Guillen was ejected in the first inning of the game played on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, after getting into an argument with home-plate umpire Todd Tichenor who called Paul Konerko out on strikes. Guillen went to the clubhouse, then Tweeted, "This one going to cost me a lot money this is patetic (sic)." Moments later, he Tweeted again, "Today a tough guy show up a yankee stadium."
Press Release, 04/29/2011, White Sox manager Guillen disciplined
Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions on the field following the top of the first inning of his Club's game against the New York Yankees on Wednesday, April 27th at Yankee Stadium, and for his comments via Twitter following his ejection, which were in violation of Major League Baseball's social media policy and other regulations regarding the use of electronic equipment during the course of a game. Joe Garagiola Jr., Senior Vice President of Standards and On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement. Guillen is scheduled to serve his suspension during Chicago's games tonight and tomorrow night against the Baltimore Orioles at U.S. Cellular Field.

Third overall, another hall of famer, Luis Aparicio (who played 1,511 game at shortstop in Chicago)!
