Conor Jackson was born on Friday, May 7, 1982, in Austin, Texas. Jackson was 23 years old when he broke into the big leagues on July 28, 2005, with the Arizona Diamondbacks. His biographical data, year-by-year hitting stats, fielding stats, pitching stats (where applicable), career totals, uniform numbers, salary data and miscellaneous items-of-interest are presented by Baseball Almanac on this comprehensive Conor Jackson baseball stats page.
"You had better believe Conor Jackson thought about it. The D-backs first baseman contemplated stopping at second base so that he could hit for the cycle, rather than legging out a triple in the sixth inning. But even with his team well on the way to what would be a convincing 9-0 win over Greg Maddux and the Padres on Friday night, Jackson couldn't help himself. 'I'm not going to lie, of course it crossed my mind,' Jackson said. 'But I think one out, runner on third is also pretty appealing.'" - Gilbert, Steve. MLB Staff Writer. CoJack, D-backs drub Padres. 19 April 2008.

Conor Jackson Stats by Baseball Almanac |
On September 19, 2011, Conor Jackson made Boston Red Sox history: Jacoby Ellsbury led off the seventh inning with an inside-the-park home run. Six batters later, Conor Jackson slugged a grand slam (the last home run in his Major League career). This was the first time in Red Sox that both feats had been accomplished in the same inning.
Did you know that John M. Jackson, the actor best known for playing Rear Admiral A. J. Chegwidden on the CBS series JAG, is Conor Jackson's father (see more of these on our Celebrities In Baseball Families page)?
Did you know that Conor Jackson won two Player of the Week Awards in 2008, the first because he finished a week with 12 hits, 10 runs, 10 RBIs, and 3 home runs, plus a game where he had two triples, a single, and a home run (one triple he could have stopped, recorded the double, and completed the cycle). Did you know that Conor Jackson was the only Arizona Diamondbacks player the entire year to win a Player of the Week Award?
Did you know that Conor Jackson contracted Valley Fever in Spring Training (2009), lost over 30-pounds, and said, "I'm tired. I'm fatigued. Some days I feel like I'm able to do stuff, and I do stuff. I sleep 12, 13 hours and I'm exhausted."? Scientific American wrote, "Conor Jackson had a big bat and a bright future. But after he contracted a rare illness in 2009 while playing with the Arizona Diamondbacks he was never quite the same. Last year another major league baseball player – Ike Davis of the New York Mets – was diagnosed with the same thing. Valley Fever is on the rise in Arizona. And that could become a problem for Major League Baseball's "Cactus League" – spring training that brings fifteen teams and about 1,000 ballplayers to the Phoenix area from mid-February to late March. A majority of those players are battling for a spot on the major league roster, and an illness that saps your energy is not the way to make that happen." [Full Story]
Conor Jackson hit fifty-two home runs off forty-five different pitchers, Jeff Francis was easily his favorite. On August 6, 2005, in the bottom of the third inning, Jackson hit his first career homer, surrendered by Francis. In that same game, bottom of the sixth inning, Jackson hit career homer number two, Francis was still on the mound. Jackson did not hit another home run in 2005. A season later, on April 12, 20066, bottom of the first inning, Jackson hit his third career homer - take a guess who was on the mound? [Answer]
