"It's not like I had impeccable command that day anyway. I think I was effectively wild. I knew what was going on, but the no-hitter doesn't really come into play until you start getting into the eighth and ninth innings. I'm just trying to compete and win the game at that point. Then something magical happened over the next three innings." - Bob Milacki in 100 Things Orioles Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die (Dan Connolly, Triumph Books, 04/01/2015, Page 210)

Bob Milacki Stats by Baseball Almanac |
On July 13, 1991, Bob Milacki was the starting pitcher in a game at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. In the sixth inning, Milacki was hit by a line drive that struck him on the pitching hand, the ball ended up being fielded by the first baseman who recorded the last out, and Bob was not sent back into the game during the next inning. Mike Flanagan, Mark Williamson, and Gregg Olson each followed Bob, who watched anxiously from the dugout. It wasn't the injury that caused his anxiety, it was because he left the game without allowing a hit, as did Flanagan (no hits allowed), and Williamson (no hits allowed), and Olson (no hits allowed), who earned the save and preserved the second Baltimore Orioles combined-pitcher no-hitter. Do you know what fellow starter recorded the first? [Answer]
Baltimore Orioles manager Johnny Oates said, "I think that might be tougher than one guy doing it, because you have to have all four guys on their games. But, on the other hand, when it's only one pitcher, the hitters get to see the same guy three times." [Source: Los Angeles Times. Peter Schmuck. July 14, 1991. Source.]
