"I pitched in two World Series games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1987 (Game 2 | Game 6), and although there have been numerous high points (and some low points) in my career, I can honestly say that the best day of my life was when I put my trust in God and started a personal relationship with Jesus Christ." - Lee Tunnell (The Goal: The Heart And Soul of the World of Sport, 'Lee Tunnell', Source)

Did you know that when Lee Tunnell made his Major League debut on September 4, 1982, he became the first pitcher in Major League history to start his first game in the big leagues and beat a reigning (1981) Cy Young Award winner, Dodgers' ace Fernando Valenzuela?

Following his Major League playing career, Tunnell pitched in the minors until 1995, including three seasons in the Nippon Professional Baseball (1991-1993), coached in the Rangers organization for nine seasons (1997-2005), served as the Reds interim bullpen coach (2006), a pro scout (2007-2008), the Brewers Minor League pitching coordinator (2008-2012), and is the current Bullpen Coach for the Milwaukee Brewers - a pretty good baseball career we think.
