Joe DiMaggio had his share of injuries during his career, but always seemed to return strong. Out for ten weeks, he returned to the lineup during the 1949 season and helped the Yankees sweep the Red Sox with a four home run / nine runs batted in performance.

Ernest Hemingway was born on July 21, 1899 in Oak Park, Illinois. In 1952, he won a Pulitzer Prize for The Old Man and the Sea and two years later he won the Nobel Prize for literature.
