All-Star Game Records : Baserunning Records

Did you know that on July 10, 1934, the National League successfully executed a double steal that included the first & only steal of home plate? During the fifth inning Mel Ott took off for second while Pie Traynor swiped home plate!

The American League, during the 1998 All-Star Game, stole six bases setting the team / league record for most successful steals during an All-Star Game. Three of those six steals occurred during the sixth inning - the most ever by any league in any inning during a Midsummer Classic.

During the 2008 All-Star Game six bases were stolen again by the American League team and that set the mark for most successful steals during an extra-inning All-Star Game. The National League stole one base in this game setting the mark for the most stolen bases during an All-Star Game by both teams / leagues.
