On August 11, 1942, Gene Desautels of Cleveland played in the longest game, fourteen innings, with no chances offered to the catcher!

By comparison, Rich Gedman of Boston accepted a record thirty-seven chances in two consecutive games on April 29 and April 30, 1986!
