On April 22, 1970, Jerry Grote of New York set the major league record of ten consecutive putouts for a catcher in a game!

On May 30, 1911, Art Wilson of New York AND on July 14, 1968, John Bateman of Houston, both set the major league record of nine consecutive putouts for a catcher from the start of a game!

On April 29, 1986, and April 30, 1986, Rich Gedman of Boston had thirty-six putouts which is the most for a catcher in two consecutive games!
