Fielding Average Records by Shortstops

Every fan knows who has played the most consecutive games at shortstop in history (in case you forgot it's Cal Ripken, Jr. with 2,216 consecutive games played at shortstop), but did you know that the National League record is five-hundred eighty-four games by Roy McMillan of Cincinnati?

Cal Ripken, Jr. set a Major League record for most seasons leading the league in most games played at shortstop with twelve seasons.

In 1923, Rabbit Maranville of Pittsburgh set a Major League record for fewest games played at shortstop by the league leader with one-hundred forty-one.
