"It was a great experience. I got to face some big league hitters. I'll go down, get some innings in and try to get back here. Guys were coming back, so I knew it would be a numbers game. I don't feel like I've been pitching all that great. I realize you can't throw fastballs by these guys. You have to work your pitches and hit your spots." - David Aardsma in the San Francisco Examiner (John Crowley, 04/22/2004)

When Hank Aaron made it to the majors in 1954, his surname (Aaron) was first, alphabetically, in the list of all-time Major League Baseball players, listed in Baseball Almanac before Ed Abbaticchio. When Aardsma made it to the show in 2004, he displaced Hank, and remains first alphabetically through today!
When David Aardsma pitched in a career high 73 games in 2009, he "kinda" tied the Seattle Mariners single season record for most games pitched in a season by a right-handed pitcher, set previously by Michael Jackson in 1996. Aardsma's teammate on the 2009 Mariners, Mark Lowe, also a right-handed pitcher, had pitched in his 73rd game of the year a few days earlier and ended the year with a team record 75 appearances!
When David Aardsma (38 saves in 2009) saved 31 games in 2010, he became just the fourth Mariners' pitcher to record multiple 30-save seasons; joining Mike Schooler (1989, 1990), Kazuhiro Sasaki (2000, 2001, 2002), and J.J. Putz (2006, 2007).
