Baseball Almanac Top Quote

"I remember telling my dad I was going away to play baseball in Florida. Him and my mom ran a great little grocery store and he didn't want me wasting my time playing baseball. He wanted me working in the store with him, and Joe (brother). So a couple days after Burnsie (Frank Burns) signed me, I told my parents at dinner that I was going to Spring Training, in Florida. He said, 'Why the hell are you to play baseball in Florida? You can play right here, across the street, in Wheeler Park.'" - Eddie Kasko (Kasko, Eddie. Letter to Baseball Almanac. Received by Baseball Almanac, 7 June 2004. Baseball Almanac Collection)
