"I had a good sinking fastball that dived towards a right-handed hitter and broke down and away from a left-handed hitter. This movement of my fastball resembled the action of a spitball. By the way, I never did throw the spitter. For one reason or another, whenever I tried it the pitch straightened out!" - Russ Kemmerer in Hey Kid, Just Get It Over The Plate! (Russ Kemmerer, Madden Publishing, 12/09/2002)
