Did you know that when Jerry Walker took the mound in the 1959 All-Star Game, he set a new All-Star Game record for youngest pitcher (20) to ever start a Midsummer Classic? Walker gave-up two hits (Johnny Temple & Del Crandall), struck out one batter (Eddie Mathews), and was relieved by Early Wynn in the fourth inning. The American League bullpen held onto the lead giving Jerry another new record, youngest pitcher to win a Midsummer Classic.

On September 11, 1959, Jerry Walker pitched a shutout. The third of his career. This one, however, took sixteen innings to complete! Walker, in Tales from the Baltimore Orioles Dugout: A Collection of the Greatest Orioles Stories Ever Told (Louis Berney, Sports Publishing, 08/02/2016, Page 32), recalled, "The game was 0-0 going to the eighth or ninth inning, and Richards asked how I was feeling, and I said, 'Fine.' I think I'd given up two or three hits at that point. So he said, 'I'm going to let you stay in the game.' So I stayed in the game, and in the 12th inning, I was still in the game. And it came to the 15th inning, and of course they checked with me every inning to see how I was doing. So when it came to the 15th, they asked how I was feeling, and, again, I said, 'I'm fine.' So they let me go out in the 16th inning. When I came in, they said, 'That's it.' Fortunately, Brooks got a base hit in the bottom of the 16th inning, 1-0. So I got the win. It was quite exciting."

In 1961, Jerry Walker finished the season without committing a single error, a 1.000 fielding percentage, the first Kansas City Athletics starting pitcher to finish the season leading the American League in fielding (Hal Brown, Paul Foytack, Cal McLish, Rollie Sheldon and Ralph Terry also went errorless, tying Walker for the lead). Walker was no stranger to errorless play, he never had an error in Baltimore, and after hanging up his cleats, he had committed only two errors across 190 games pitched.
