Trivia alert: Did you know that the franchise played their last game on October 7, 1885? Twelve fans were in attendance, Dupee Shaw of Providence won both ends of the doubleheader, and game two was a five inning no-hitter.

Prior to 1879 this franchise played in the International Association. In 1878 they won the pennant, behind the arm of Pud Galvin and the bat of Dan Brouthers, and were admitted into the National League the following season.
