Intentional Base On Balls Team Records |
The Montreal Expos (versus the Los Angeles Dodgers) played a twenty-two inning game on August 23, 1989, without a single base on balls setting the Major League record for longest game (by number of innings) without a walk by a team.
On September 11, 1949, the New York Yankees had eleven base on balls, courtesy of the Washington Senators, during the third inning setting the Major League mark for walks during an inning. The National League mark for walks during an inning was set by the Chicago Cubs who walked nine Cincinnati Red Legs batters in the fifth inning of a game played on April 24, 1957.
Did you know that on May 2, 1956, the New York Giants (seven) and Chicago Cubs (four) played a seventeen inning game and set a Major League record for most intentional base on balls by both teams during an extra inning game with eleven?
