The Flagler College baseball program started in 1968. Chris Barnwell was the first former Saint to make it to the Major League level.
The Flagler Baseball Coach, Dave Barnett, shared this with his team, "It's (Barnwell making it to the show) a great statement for kids willing to commit themselves and work hard. That shows you anything can happen."
What was it like getting called up? Chris shared, "I was excited and nervous. They have everything ready for you. Everything fits perfectly." And what about his first at bat? "My arms were a little shaky. It's hard to get a hit in your first-ever at-bat."
