Baseball Almanac Top Quote

"It (being an All-Star) was a very, very intense emotional experience. I was so thankful to have John Wetteland with me at the time, because I don't think I would have had the guts to have walked through the clubhouse door on my own. John was great, he kind of broke the ice and introduced me to everyone. It was just a wonderful, thrilling experience and it was really emotionally draining as well, because I was one of the big stories there so I had to tell my autobiographical journey to every reporter there and it was just non-stop. It was wonderful being out there for the All-Century Team and seeing Ted Williams go out there in the golf cart and throw out the first pitch, I just didn't feel worthy being out there with those legends of the game." - Zimmerman, Jeff. Slam Baseball. 26 April 2000.

"Last year it was Roberto Alomar. He adjusted phenomenally to all three of my pitches and he was a very tough out, he was a smart hitter and he had a plan up there and he just wasn't up there hacking and he would hit according to the situation and I really struggled with him last year." - Jeff Zimmerman
