Did you know that when Gordon Beckham hit twenty-eight doubles in 2009, it was the most in history by a White Sox player who took the field in 103-or-fewer games? Combine that with his Rookie of the Month Award (July 2009 / .330 AVG / 10 Doubles | 18 RBI), and it's easy to see why The Sporting News selected Gordo as their Rookie of the Year, and his peers selected him as the Outstanding Rookie of the Year!

Did you know that when Hall of Fame second baseman Nellie Fox posted a .990 fielding percentage in 1962, it was the best in White Sox history? Why mention this here? In 2011, Gordon Beckham handled 723 total chances at second, committed only eight errors, and finished with a .989 fielding percentage — .001 behind Fox, good enough for second best in franchise history!

In 2012, Beckham handled 698 total chances at second base, and committed only 7 errors, a .990 fielding percentage. He broke his own record, but remains second in franchise history. How? Remove the rounding, and Fox, in '62, ended with a .9901 fielding percentage, and Beckham, in 2012, ended with a .9899 average, giving Gordo the second & third best defensive seasons in franchise history.

In 2015, Elias Sports Bureau said Gordon Beckham was the first player in Major League Baseball history to record game-ending hits on Mother's Day and Father's Day in the same season!

Wilson Sporting Goods recognizes the best defensive player on a team annually, and Gordon Beckham was the Wilson Defensive Player of The Year for the White Sox in 2013!
