"Bert (Bradley) was taken as the Oakland Athletics 27th selection in the June 1979 draft. During his first season, he made the jump from Single-A to Triple-A in the Oakland system. In 1983, Bert led the Pacific Coast League (Triple-A) with 65 appearances and a 2.76 ERA. Later that year, he was called up to the majors and made six appearances with the Athletics.
