Lou Gehrig set a Major League Baseball record that would stay at the top of Baseball Almanac for 75 years! In 1925, Gehrig hit his first grand slam. Thirteen year laters, the Iron Horse hit his final grand slam—putting his name on the top of the all-time / Top 1000 Grand Slam Hitters.
The MLB grand slam record has since been broken, but Baseball Almanac has dedicated itself to preserving the history of our national pastime, and these twenty-three historic grand slams NEED to be remembered for all eternity.
"Lou 'Iron Horse' Gehrig was quite possibly the best first baseman to ever play at Yankee Stadium. His stunning athletic ability made him an American hero, while his untimely death made him a legend." - The White House
