Did you know that Jordan Yamamoto tied the Marlins franchise record for most innings pitched (7.0) during a major league debut, set previously by Brad Penny (2000), Justin Nicolino (2015), and Dillon Peters (2017)? During his very next start, on June 18, 2019, Yamamoto pitched seven scoreless innings once again, won again, and broke the mark for consecutive scoreless innings pitched to begin a career in Marlins, held previously by Josh Beckett (10 IP in 2001). Then, during his very next start, on June 23, 2019, he "only" went five innings, but earned the win, becoming the first pitcher in Marlins history to win their first three consecutive games!

Injuries (right forearm strain / right shoulder strain) prematurely ended Yami's pitching career, but the team barber / professional shoe designer has a few options to explore, now that he has officially retired (March 13, 2023) from pitching in the majors.
